Things we’ve done

Things we’ve done

Our programme is eclectic: we’ve done our own version of the Antiques Roadshow, attended the Royal Opera House’s live stage performance of Lucia di Lammermoor from the comfort of the Guildford Odeon, and we’ve had croquet lessons at the National Trust’s country house and estate at Polesden Lacey.

Occasionally we have a few days away. We’ve stayed in York and Stratford-upon-Avon, combining sightseeing with theatre visits, tours, gallery and museum visits, and dinners in select restaurants. More rural visits have included the West Country, where sightseeing and walking featured prominently.

Three big events on the annual calendar are our New Year dinner; a summer garden party and a spectacular Christmas lunch at a superb venue.

Affinité - over-55's social Club event at Runnymede

With my job, I am frequently out of the country, so it was difficult to maintain a good social life until I discovered Affinité and was introduced to a group of interesting and very likeable people. Highly recommended!! (Phil)
